Mamaroneck

With approximately six miles of shoreline, Mamaroneck boasts of many beaches, parks and marinas. Mamaroneck's name derives from the Native American word that translates to "the place where the sweet waters fall into the sea". Offering a beautiful landscape with many nature preserves such as The Hommocks Conservation, a 10.6 acre area comprised of woodland, salt marsh and meadow areas.

Mamaroneck Avenue, the main retail center, is thriving with local businesses and has become a great dining destination known for its variety of culinary delights. Mamaroneck is known as "The Friendly Village" and has many annual community events. The Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts presents a variety of more than 200 performances a year.

Harbor island Park, the heart of Mamaroneck, is a 44-acre recreational park with an exceptional small boat marina. Additional accommodations are made for boaters in the outer harbor. Private boat yards and boat builders thrive in the village. Recreational programs are offered for all ages.

The Village facilities include numerous parks, a 700 foot beach, tennis courts in three locations, softball and soccer fields and a recreation center.
